Abstract
In this dissertation we have proposed methods for improving the image guidance of TACE procedures. The aim was to achieve better image conduction for the doctor, which can lead to shorter procedure times, better selection of the vessels that feed the tumour, use of less contrast agent and less exposure to ionising radiation for the doctor and the patient. We investigated the possibilities of following the catheter and the guide wire in the arteries of the liver. These kinds of techniques improve the image conduction by using dynamic 2D and 3D roadmaps.
